The city of Cleveland is filled with excitement for the opening of the new luxury urban resort, The 9. Anchored at the corner of ninth and Euclid, the historic Ameritrust complex has been transformed into a vibrant, high-end mixed-use building featuring a 156-room luxury hotel, 194 luxury apartments, and Heinen’s Market, featuring gourmet groceries.
The GEIS Companies, a premier design/build company headquarted in Streetsboro, OH has spearheaded this effort. Working with Sandvick Architects of Cleveland the team has worked diligently to preserve the iconic architectural features of the buildings while infusing them with contemporary technology and modern chic design concepts.
One of the most conspicuous and dynamic features of the new structure are the colorful LED Video Displays on the north and south ends of the parking garage exterior. The two 16mm video displays, manufactured by LSI Industries (Cincinnati, OH), measure approximately 48’ x 49’ and contain almost 900,000 LED chips each. The full color dynamic content can be seen from blocks away.
Scott Ready, President LSI Industries said, “It has been great working with Geis Companies on such a prestigious project in the city of Cleveland. We were very happy to be able to offer the Geis Companies high quality, high performance product in a unique corner wrap installation built right here in Ohio. The nearly 5,000 sq. ft. of LED Display provides one of the largest display surfaces in the U.S.”
Ryan Arthur, Marketing and Creative Content Manager for Geis Hospitality, is in charge of creating content for the video displays. “The response from the billboards has been extraordinary since they day they went live,” he said. “They’re far larger than anything else of their kind between New York City and Las Vegas. One of our images even wound up on MSNBC and ESPN. LSI has provided us with an immeasurable tool to amp up our advertising.”
